Yo! Say what?! One of the photos that I recently submitted to be featured on VogueItalia’s photo hub called “PhotoVogue” got CHOSEN! For those who may not know what it is, according to their manifesto:
“PhotoVogue is Vogue.it photography platform curated by the Photo Editors of Vogue Italia: a platform for photographers to showcase their talent with the opportunity to take part in international exhibitions and initiatives and the chance of being represented by New York agency Art+Commerce, one of the most prestigious in the world.”
It is truly exciting for me to have had one of my photos chosen for this “prestigious” online platform. All I know was I’ve always had a love for fashion (thanks to Mama Tyra Banks + ANTM) and I’ve always wanted to be involved in it one way or another. Somehow photography + fashion combined together bit me hard and I’ve been madly in love with shooting fashion photography ever since.
I could NOT be anymore proud and happy to have my dear friend & muse Laray Egea-Saez representing us. Let me tell you a background story about our partnership. Ever since I met Laray, I’ve always known that there was something unique and special about her - whether it was through her movement or even just her beauty. Our friendship is one of the few things that I am really thankful for during my time at SDSU as a Dance major where we were classmates (and eventually graduated together). The thing about her was this she didn’t always see her real worth & beauty like the way I saw it - and that made me very sad. So one day about earlier this year, I approached her about being my muse (in both dance and photography), although she didn’t feel worthy of it initially I am glad she eventually said YES. With her unique beauty and innate artistic talent, I knew she was someone definitely worth building up as she is TRULY WORTH IT.
And now, I present to you my published work, “Dear Beautiful Flower” ft. Larry Egea- Saez. (@dancingrayoflight on Instagram)
We are only allowed to submit two works per cycle, and the other photo I submitted was called, "Love Me, For Me" ft. another dear friend Breanna Turner. (@therealbreannalynn on Instagram)
